Yeah, it was fun to watch, what with the robots and the explosions and the what-not, but the plot and the dialogue in the first half was sort of excruciating, and I kind of want that hour of my life back. And while you can never go wrong with giant robot fight scenes, they kinda dragged it out a bit too long. At least it looked cool. At first I was pretty shocked that you didn’t want to even bother with Transformers… but I just got home from seeing it, and now I understand why.

I give it a 'B.' Maybe "B is for <i>Blockbuster</i>." It isn't a great movie but I doubt ... I highly doubt--that the 80's characters were any kind of study in depth. I might be wrong--I didn't see the TV show--but I just can't see it. Of course what's cool to a 12 year old will be different than what's cool to a 17-year old and that doesn't make the 80's show bad.
