How can you be sure the person you agree to swap votes with will dutifully carry out their end of the agreement? I would rather see electoral reform be implemented. I guess vote swapping would still be useful even if STV or some other proportional representation existed - but you'd never know who they voted for unless there's a paper trail.

Hi Craig, I recently signed up for a 30 day trial with MyFax but now have to cancel as I have to leave the country for 3-4 months. You're comment that the cancellation process was hassle free gives me some comfort, however I'm having some difficulty finding information on their site on how to cancel prior to the 30 day trial period ends. I did find a 'termination' form which I filled out but, wary as I am about online trials, am not comfortable that I have indeed cancelled my account. Do you have any advice or anything you can tell me to make me feel more secure in assuming that 'terminating' and 'cancelling' mean the same thing to MyFax. I will be gone before the 30 day period is up and do not want any surprise charges on my credit card when I return. Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me.

paranoid much? i'm going to call a baker right now and publish the numbers on my blog :-P

but seriously, here's two things to consider:

1. ideas are a dime a dozen. execution is what counts.

2. when was the last time you built a business based on somebody else's idea you read on their blog? everybody wants to build their own great idea; nobody cares about building yours.

The extension method isn't a true function pointer. The value of the property is retrieved when the pointer is created ("foo.Bar.get"), and THAT VALUE is ALWAYS returned from that function pointer. The pointer using a lambda expression will properly retrieve the new value of the property.

Test Code:

public class FooClass { public String Bar { get; set; } }

public static class Getter { public static T get(this T target) { return target; } }

class Program
{
    static void Main(string[] args)
    {
        FooClass foo = new FooClass();

        foo.Bar = "First String";
